The Power of No Words

It wasn’t the moments that filled the air with dialogue and laughter –

It was the silence.

When the words would stop flowing.

And the tension got higher.

Your eyes piercing into mine.

Hands locked into each other’s embrace.

That is when I saw myself.

In those light brown eyes.

I saw my past. My present. And my future.

And it had always been with you.

Exotic Love

Your hair is always frizzy

because you don’t use conditioner.

The brown belt with the black shoes

clearly don’t go.

Eating carrots made you say

you just lost one kilogram.

The look you have on your face

is always so confusing to me.

I say how hard you are to read

as you say you’ve heard that many times before.

You act like a high schooler when we’re in bed.

You don’t tell me how you feel.

You are so behind on all the trends.

But I still can’t help but love the way you

make me laugh –

tell me I’m beautiful –

look at me the way you do –

remind me of emotions so hidden away –

laugh with your hands covering your mouth –

look so helpless all the time –

make me want to call you mine –

smile at everything you see –

listen to me speak of philosophy.

All the things I thought I wanted

you changed it all for me.

Now you are on the other side of the world.

what I would do to tell you how I feel right now.

New Me

Don’t you see?

I am still me.

Even if I do things a little differently.

But if you look deep down inside.

I am still the same person you knew from before.

Just living a life I always wished to know.

Testing the waters of adventure and curiosity.

Spending my time in a foreign sea.

But if you came back to me,

You’d see,

I am the same blonde haired girl that used to live next door.

Sitting, Waiting

It’s always these moments.

The times where the wind blows a little more gently –

Pulling out old memories –

And replacing them with my new life.

I think of you.

As I watch you leave with the overflowing sky line.

I try to forget all that was left behind.

Because it’s easier to pretend it never really happened to begin with.

Days like this bring me back to it all.

The simplicity.

And constant serendipity.

I remember your wild spirit.

How drawn I was to it all.

Things are so different from those times.

All the memories I left behind.

Crashing with the waves of those summer skies.

Do you feel me there when I am so far away?

I have waited many hours.

For my soul to release from my body.

I don’t know where I go from here.

Is this the end for us now?

So out of control.

I am watching from a distance into me.

While watching you see me.

And turn your back away.

Because I am now so far gone.

With no intention to return home.

This is my pre-determined destiny.

Sing my song to all that you meet.

We may be so far gone.

But it will always end with you and me.

Even if it is just our fading memories.

Take these memories out of my head.

I can’t bare seeing the picture of you in my bed.

I have searched the world,

Looking for someone just like you.

I had it, too.

This whole time.

Al l along.

You were right there with me.

Not second doubts or wonder.

Just you and I.

Facing the world day by day.

Everything I hoped to received.

Is all that I just left so effortlessly.

Why is it,

That the clichés are always so true?

Because I truly didn’t know what I had

Until the day that I left you.

You turn your blind eye,

So daddy’s money can keep you cruising along by.

If you don’t know it exists,

It never happened to begin with?

More money,

Equals more fun.

So who cares about the ones at the end of the race?

They should’ve trained harder in the first place.

But what if they had the advantage of yours?

Then maybe they wouldn’t have had to go begging on the streets everyday for more.

And they could’ve spent more time at the gym.

Then maybe,

You wouldn’t even be with him.

And with this mindset,

Will always breed,

An endless race of running around the same track over and over again.

Bonnie and Clyde

Why is it always the eyes?

They get me every single time.

Your eyes always are up to something not good.

Watching everything in the room.

Trying to create your next move.

Observing me and everyone that I see.

You want to manipulate the entire room.

And I think that you can.

I admire your bold moves.

Take me by the waist.

Show me what you can do.

Allow me to be your partner in crime.

I’m your Bonnie.

Take me to your secret hiding scene.

My badass ways.

Your witty phrase.

We can take on the world together right now.

Is the world –

Ready for us right now?

How badly do you want it?

What is your motive here?

Tell me,

How much are you willing to sell –

your soul for this spot you’re in right now.

I can’t tell you right from wrong.

The future is a little unannounced.

All that you do,

All that you see.

Would you change it for something differently?

This is your life.

You are who you are.

The goals you possess –

It is all happening now.

So then the question simply remains:

What are you willing to sacrifice to become kingdom of this domain?

Tell me you love me –

The way the sun loves the moon –

The way the ocean’s tide meets the shore –

Every single day –

Without skipping a bet.

Take my hand –

Show me the stars I have never seen –

With the world at our feet –

Never looking back at our past –

Just you and I.

Kiss my bare skin –

Your warm breath fuels my soul –

Making me lose control –

Melting my body into the embrace of yours –

Begging you to never let me go.

Our love, you see, is but a mystery to me. I give you my heart with nothing more in return than your mere fantasy.

Find me underneath the old fig tree, where I will always be, waiting for you to return to me.

I feel as though I have lost all hope. A large weight has shifted onto my shoulders that I can’t bear to take off. The responsibility. The knowledge. If I don’t do it, who will? I know more than they do. It is my duty to save this. To save us. As a community, as a city, as a state, as a country, as a figure of the world.

If I don’t do it –

Who will?
